Amy has a Diploma in Animal Technology and absolutley loves working at Canberra Vet. She loves animals and everything to do with them. Amy is extremely passionate about the wellbeing of all animals. Amy owns an Irish Wolfhound named Thor, a Staffy named Missy, two cats, Nebula and Dolly and a Green Cheek Conure called Luna. Amy loves her furry children very much. In her spare time, aside from tending to her babies, Amy enjoys relaxing with friends, fishing and continuously learning about space, fossils and minerals, which is one of her favourite hobbies. Amy also has an amazing fossil and mineral collection.
Nicole has lived in Canberra all her life and from a very young age has had a passion for all kinds of animals. Nicole has a dog, Daisy, a cat Lilly and two horses, Monty and Remi. She has been riding horses since the age of 10, when her mother took her to see a friend’s horse and thinking Nicole would be scared to have a go was surpirsed when Nicole loved it and has been riding daily ever since. It has always been Nicole’s dream to work with animals and to be able to help them. Now she has joined the Canberra Veterinary Hospital team and fits in so well, her dream is now a reality.
Peter has been a Canberran for more than a decade. At home, he is blessed with three beautiful cats, a naughty Labrador and two cheeky little sisters. When not in the practice reception area, Peter is a student of Commerce and Engineering at the ANU. In his spare time, Peter likes skiing, rugby and Jana. His favourite part of the Receptionist role is meeting all the cute pets that come to the practice every day.
Having lived previously in Melbourne, Katherine now calls Canberra home. Starting work with Canberra Veterinary Hospital in June 2016, Katherine fits in very well and loves being a part of the client relations team.
Katherine is a fan of all sports and has played cricket since 5 years of age even making the league level in Melbourne. She also follows the Anaheim Ducks and Melbourne Mustangs, in the ice hockey and would love to play but admits her coordination could let her down.
Katherine lives with her partner and two dogs Boyd, a German Shepherd and Oliver a Jack Russell Terrier.
Dannie has recently relocated from Melbourne to sunny Canberra and has joined the team for a career change from the Banking sector.
Having grown up with an array of pets, her interest in animal care has developed leading to her joining the team.
Dannie is a keen aquarist, dog trainer and dog conformation show participant.
She currently has four fur babies in her family, two Ragdoll cats, one Blue healer X agility dog and a White Shepherd Conformation dog.
Ashleigh has lived on a hobby farm on the outskirts of Canberra since she was little. Having been raised amongst a petting zoo of sorts (horses, dogs, cats, donkeys, cows and alpacas) Ashleigh has developed a deep respect and love for all critters and considers them members of the family. One day, she aspires to aid in the rehabilitation and rehoming of animals that have found themselves in unfortunate circumstances. In the meantime, she spends her spare moments swimming, boxing, being with friends and scouring Canberra for a scrummy brunch spot. She plans on attending University next year completing a double degree in Sociology and Journalism.
Lauren was born in Canberra and moved to a property in Sutton when she was 12 years old. She now lives back in the ACT with her fiancé and her Australian Shepherd Harley.
Having always had pets throughout her life, Lauren’s love for animals only grew which led to a career change. She joined our Client Relations team in April and has recently started studying towards her Certificate IV in Vet Nursing.
In her spare time, Lauren loves hanging out with friends, taking Harley for walks and heading back to her parents property.
Shalyn is new to the team; she is also an avid animal addict.
She has completed her Certificate 3 in Captive Care through Taronga Western Plains in 2016 and has gained an abundance of knowledge whilst working with the zoo keepers there.
Shalyn has a keen interest in horses and dogs in particular, having completed her studies in equine massage therapy and equi-tape.
Her main interests include wildlife and environmental conservation, animal behaviour and animal enrichment.
Shalyn hopes to continue her studies and build a career focused on providing the best care and advice to animals and their owners.
Bonnie grew up in the Southern Highlands with horses and the family cat. She has always held a deep seated love of animals, big and small and knew that she wanted to work with them. Bonnie studied Performance Horse Management fresh out of high school and worked within the equine industry for several years. Recently Bonnie has completed a Certificate in Equine Sports Therapy. Currently she is studying Diploma of Equine Tactile Therapy though the Australian College of Animal Tactile Therapy to bring further knowledge and understanding to her clients.
She currently lives on a property with her partner, on the outskirts of Canberra with her four horses: Lady, Zahra, Dream Catcher and Da’Vhenan and their three cats: Faelon, Delilah and Artemis.”
Shay has a Maltese cross Jack Russell and a lazy house cat. Having had Jack Russell dogs most of her life she absolutely adores the breed. Shay also enjoys playing with her cat and although both her cat and dog can be quite a handful, Shay enjoys the end of day cuddles with them both.
