Veterinary Nurse Manager
Sarah started her career at Canberra Veterinary Hospital in 2010. After many years of veterinary nursing her passion for the industry has only continued to grow. Sarah believes vet nursing is a truly rewarding and challenging profession and particularly enjoys spending her days surrounded by animals and people.
Her main areas of interest include client education, wellness management, preventative care and animal rescue. Sarah adopted two cats through the CVH cat adoption program (Bear and Yogi) and also rescued Kaizen, a Staffy X, who required lots of tender love and care due to his ongoing medical conditions.
Nicole has forever lived in Canberra and from a very young age has had a passion for all kinds of animals. Nicole has a Fox Terrier X Border Collie named Daisy and a Domestic Short Hair Tabby named Freya . It has always been Nicole’s dream to work with animals and to be able to help them. First starting with the Canberra Vet Clients relations team in 2015 she soon moved on to the nursing team in 2017 and fits in so well, her dream is now a reality.
Tayla has lived in Canberra her entire life and always had a strong passion and love for all animals great and small.
She is training to be a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse and hopes to go on to do further studies in Wildlife and large animals. Tayla owns three dogs: Dingo a bull terrier X, Beanie a Cattle Dog and Giselle a Bull Mastiff X.
In her spare time she enjoys going on bush walks through nature forests, camping and relaxing. Her current hobbies are, training to be a recreational Figure Skater and horse rider.
Lara was born and raised in Sydney. She has completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. She loves making clients feel understood and enjoys the wildlife that staff handle on a daily basis. In her spare time she loves being outdoors, drawing, exercising and travelling. Lara owns a very energetic and vocal dog named Bodhi a Beagle x Staffy.
Amanda started nursing in 2009 and joined Canberra Veterinary Hospital in March of 2015. Amanda loves nursing and is particularly interested in client education. She has two fur babies at home; a doofus golden retriever x and a cranky old cat who secretly likes head scratches.
Hannah has been a part of the Canberra Veterinary Hospital Nursing team since September 2013. She has her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and is one day seeking to do further study at University. Hannah has one dog called Boris, a staffy cross who can be adventurous and sometimes mischievous. One day Hannah would like to get experience in Large Animal Nursing and do volunteer work overseas.
Gemma was born and raised in Canberra and started her career in the Veterinary Industry by doing animal attendant shifts after completing year 12. Gemma decided to Study Vet nursing after seeing what an amazing job Canberra vet does and her love for animals.
Gemma finished her Certificate IV in vet nursing and continuous to really enjoy her time working with animals. Outside of work her passions include being out doors, future travels around the world, spending time with family and friends (and her two birds named Bell and Cheeky), with a dream of one day owning a French bulldog.
Hanan has completed a Certificate III in Animal Technology, Diploma of Animal Technology and a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Hanan has a particular interest in surgical cases as he enjoys watching the progress of a patient recovering. He also enjoys continuing his own education, knowledge and skills.
In his spare time Hanan enjoys playing outdoor and indoor soccer, catching up with his friends, going to the cinema and is also planning on doing lots of travelling in the future.
Alex started at Canberra Veterinary Hospital in February 2015. By early 2016 Alex had completed her cert III in companion animal studies and cert IV in veterinary nursing.
Alex loves coming to work every day to meet all the different animals and people, mostly enjoying being able to make a difference to these lives everyday. Alex also has a passion for dentistry and surgical procedures.
In her spare time she loves taking long walks around the lake with her Hungarian Vizsla ‘Mika’ and hopes to travel around the world, working with all the different types of animals.
Alicia began working at CVH in 2016, originating in the Illawarra region.
Alicia has worked as a veterinary nurse since 2003, completing her apprenticeship in Sydney
and completed a Diploma in Emergency and Critical care nursing.
Alicia has worked in specialist hospitals all over Australia as an Emergency nurse and pursued additional training in Animal Behaviour. Alicia now helps our clients with their pets behavioural issues, hosts Puppy classes and offers additional one on one assistance for anyone with problem pets of all species.
Alicia, owns Poppy the Staffy x who also assists with Puppy classes and training other dogs and is particularly interested in teaching people how to understand their pets.
Emma has completed her Certificate III in Animal Technology and a Diploma of Animal Technology, with these qualifications she worked at ANU for 3 years as an Animal Technician working with rats and mice. Emma is now studying a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and loving working at Canberra Veterinary Hospital. Emma has always had a huge love for all animals and has always wanted to work with animals from a very young age.
Emma has two dogs, a Bullmastiff cross named Bobby and a Kelpie cross Cattle dog called Jewel and two guinea pigs names Piglet and Pigsby. In her free time Emma enjoys taking her dogs for swims at the creek, hanging out with friends and family and watching her favourite team Geelong Cats play in the AFL.
